Remote Learning
Aims
Remote learning considers children unable to attend school for purposes of health recovery / quarantine / lockdown / shielding who are not able to attend school for a period of time.
This remote learning policy for staff aims to:
- Ensure consistency in the approach to remote learning for pupils who aren’t in school
- Set out expectations for all members of the school community with regards to remote learning
- Provide appropriate guidelines for data protection
Supporting Your Child
Your child will be steered through their remote learning from the Class Page - for which they have specific login details.
Further details of face-to-face meetings are communicated from the class page.
Click on the Learning Menu and "Southroyd Learning Zone" above.
For Early Years children, remote learning communication uses the Tapestry software.
Important Documents
We have taken as much feedback as possible from 2020-2021 lockdown experiences to try and taylor the remote learning curriculum to best support children who may be in need of teaching and learning whilst off school site. These adaptations continue to support the needs of children having to rely on remote learning.
This approach recognises the specific challenges of remote learning in home settings and understands the importance of feedback and communication at all stages.
