A new NHS service will be delivered by the Children's Society and is called “Time for young people”.
The service will work with young people and offer a range of support for different mental health issues including issues with friends or family, anxiety, loneliness, low mood, relationships, self-harm, starting a new school, bullying, gender or identify issues etc. It will support young people 0-18 (25 with SEN) and will work in a range of ways including weekly drop ins, 1-2-1 support (maximum of 10 sessions), group work, signposting and support for practitioners working with young people. There is no referral route and young people or parents are able to drop in and discuss support needs.
The new service started in July 2024 and for the West Leeds areas works out of the Pudsey Wellbeing Centre on Robin Lane in Pudsey and the link to this service is here with schools and other professionals being advised to signpost families and young people to this where appropriate.
